I went up to Rockland yesterday and my mom and I took a short, sad walk through what used to be the Nanuet Mall. Only a few stores are still hanging on (COOKIE STORE WILL NEVER DIE), and it already has that haunted, abandoned feeling. I remember how cool and independent I felt to take the mini-trans to the mall all by myself. And my excitement when I was finally was allowed to get my ears pierced after 6th grade at this now caution-taped Piercing Pagoda. RIP, Piercing Pagoda. RIP, Nanuet Mall.
