"

And behind us all, guiding and guarding us is the music itself, the art of music. Music, don’t forget music. It’s so easy with your thinking-this awful intellectual thinking we all have to go through because we’re living in that kind of an age- to forget the art of music, the beauty it holds, the force it holds, the stimulation it holds.

You must not only have faith to dare, and courage in your selves, but you must have this same faith and courage in music. This is your bread and butter, this is what you work with. Without music there would be no such thing as music therapy and music is an endless world waiting for all of us to discover it.

Paul Nordoff

"There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening, that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and will be lost."

— Martha Graham

"He who binds to himself a joy
Doth the winged life destroy;
But he who kisses the joy as it flies
Lives in Eternity’s sun rise."

Two Weeks + Head Over Heels by Kimbra
originally by Grizzly Bear and Tears for Fears, respectively.

via ace138 who says:

New Zealand’s own Kimbra on triple j doing a mashup of Grizzly Bear and Tears for Fears.
Even if you’re not a fan, you have to admit, the girl’s got pipes.
And a mouth to match.

Love this, love Kimbra, love New Zealand.

I’m all over this thing like a fangirl should be…

Beyonce, End of Time

Trying to figure out what video to post of Beyonce was probably one of the most difficult decisions I’ve faced in a long time. What song do I post - something old? New? Slow? Fast? Do I want to showcase her amazing vocal abilities (natch, its in every video, come on), her dancing skills, her joy? Then I realized what I should be focusing on. Her thighs. So enjoy this thigh-show (and one of the best new songs off of her newest album) and bask in the glow that is Beyonce. House of Dereon forever, Amen.

P.S. That little foot kick she does at the beginning and end, I’m definitely going to rocking in the club (the club=my living room).

Super-depressing country song of your Friday:

If I Die Young by The Band Perry

If I die young, bury me in satin

Lay me down in a bed of roses

Sink me in the river, at dawn

Send me away with the words of a love song

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Baby provides choreography for Lady Gaga song.

So I am, of course, sitting here thinking about Harry Potter all day

and how I would have loved to go to Hogwarts, when a major issue occurs to me:

WHAT’S HOGWARTS MUSIC AND THEATRE PROGRAM LIKE? Is there too much of an emphasis on Quidditch athletics there, and no money goes to the spring musical? I need to talk to someone about this.

Finally, someone explores their catalogue.
